Summer Sessions
Engaging Virtual Offerings - Summer 2020
Nomad School is offering three sessions of Zoom camps on engaging and interactive topics this summer! Each session will meet three days per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Daily schedule includes two Zoom activity blocks, time for independent work and exploration, and a virtual social lunch. Facilitated by Christie Seyfert, Founder/Head of School/Educator at Nomad. Cost is $200 per session, see below for details.
Session 1 - Design a Space Hotel!
June 23rd, 24th, & 25th (Tues-Thurs) / $200
Design a Space Hotel! Inspired by the recent SpaceX Crew Dragon mission to the International Space Station, this virtual session will explore current and past space hotel design ideas. We’ll play space-related simulations and games, read and write fictional stories about space vacations, design our own space hotel, and learn about this new age of space travel.
Session 2 - Foley Sound Effects!
June 30th, July 1st, and 2nd (Tues-Thurs) / $200
Foley Sound Effects! This favorite past Nomad exploration features a deep dive into sound effects and foley. In this session, we’ll create and identify mystery sounds together, learn about the history of sound effects in shows and movies, and create our own foley for video clips. We’ll look at how sound effects are created in Star Wars, Planet Earth, and more.
Session 3 - Pancakes Versus Waffles!
July 7th, 8th and 9th (Tues - Thurs) / $200
Pancakes Versus Waffles! In this session we explore debate through friendly, humorous topics. We’ll listen to a variety of entertaining debates, explore what makes a good argument, play games involving rhetoric, and pick interesting topics to research and debate together (with structure, of course).
